Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut’s main office is all decked out for some serious neighborhood fun.
Located at 377 Broad Street in New London, the traditional colonial on the hill has been transformed into a spooky haunt that has all the local ghosts and goblins begging to move in.
“With everything going on, we all need a little bit of levity,” says Geoff Taylor, Development Director. “We wanted to have some fun this year and provide families with a fun Halloween destination. The house really transforms at night when the ghostly lights come on! We are really excited to share a bit of seasonal fun with local families.”
The display features unique and colorful lighting as well as dozens of handmade jack-o-lantern, ghouls and tombstones. The pop-up display was completed by a group of Habitat volunteers to help spread holiday cheer during these difficult times. As the infection rate of COVID-19 rises in our area, Habitat wanted to do something to make our entire community smile during this spooky season and remind everyone that we are #ConnecticutStrong.
The public is invited to view the outdoor Halloween display Tuesday October 27 through Sunday, November 1. The lights come on at 5 PM each evening.
Take your family’s selfie in front of the house and tag #HauntedHabitat on social media, including #HabitatECT and #CommunityStrong. Habitat kindly requests the public to view the display while observing public health protocols including physical distancing and wearing face coverings over the nose and mouth, or from the safety of your car. Habitat thanks everyone in advance for respecting the displays and the property, while joining in the fun of spreading cheer.
